Discipline, dedication, humility and compassion are among the most valuable lessons Anthony Sellhausen says he learned while attending Catholic Memorial High School.
“It’s the values you learn at CMH that set it apart from any other school,” Anthony said. Values his mother, Geralyn, said are best found in a Catholic school. “Catholic Memorial High School provides the environment of a Christian family. It has become another home for us. There is a true sense of unity,” she said.
Geralyn credits the personal attention her son received from his teachers and the character-building guidance of a dedicated coaching staff for her son’s success. “The teachers dedicate their time for personal assistance. The coaches provide the valuable life lessons of teamwork, good sportsmanship and working hard to obtain your goals.”
For Anthony, it’s those values that made all the difference. “They’ll stay with me longer than anything I learned in Algebra or Chemistry,” he said. And it’s those values that led him to enlist in the Army National Guard, with whom he will soon begin an eight-year tour of duty.
“CMH didn’t just teach me how to be a good student; it taught me how to be an adult,” Anthony said.
