Catholic Memorial High School (CMH) is proud to announce the generous donation of $125,000 from longtime supporters and distinguished members of the CMH community, Steve and Dr. Shelagh Roell. Their transformational gift has enabled the school to acquire an Anatomage Table, the most advanced 3D anatomy visualization technology system available, enhancing the educational experience for CMH students in the Biomedical Science and Biology programs.
With the addition of this state-of-the-art technology, Catholic Memorial becomes one of only two private high schools in Wisconsin, and one of just 114 across the nation, to offer students access to this collegiate-level tool. The Anatomage table brings interactive, life-size 3D cadavers into the classroom, giving students a unique, hands-on experience that was previously only accessible through off-site college lab visits.
“This extraordinary gift from the Roell family will open new doors for our students,” said Donna Bembenek, President of Catholic Memorial High School. “It’s an investment not only in technology, but in the future of healthcare and science education. Our students will now enter college and careers with a distinct advantage.”
“Throughout my career in nursing, I’ve come to deeply appreciate the value of early exposure to technology and hands-on learning in shaping future success,” said Dr. Shelagh Roell. “We are excited to offer CMH the opportunity to expand their science program. We have every confidence that the skills students gain through access to advanced technology will empower them to explore the many possibilities the medical profession has to offer.”
Catholic Memorial is nationally recognized for excellence in STEM education, named a Top STEM School in the nation by Project Lead the Way for eight consecutive years. The integration of the Anatomage technology further elevates CMH’s innovative curriculum, empowering students to explore real-world medical concepts, anatomy, physiology, and pathology in a fully immersive way.
“Providing CMH students with access to this cutting-edge technology is very meaningful. The anatomage table will give students an incredible head start in their education, offering hands-on experience in both medical and technological disciplines. This opportunity empowers the faculty to engage students with advanced learning tools typically reserved for college-level programs.” Said Steve Roell. “The students will be well-positioned for honors-level programs when they graduate. We look forward to watching the achievements this makes possible.”
Anatomage is the global leader in 3D medical visualization technology. Its “Anatomage Bodies” are created from real human cadaveric slices, providing the most accurate and high-definition digital representations of the human body available today.
The introduction of the Anatomage technology reinforces CMH’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and preparing students for success in careers of the future. With this state-of-the-art resource now a part of daily classroom instruction, CMH students are better equipped than ever to lead in the fields of medicine, research, and healthcare.
