Learning Support Services

Our Purpose

In order to accomplish our mission, we believe in providing a culture of support.  Through this specialized support, our focus is to help foster students who are self-advocates and independent learners, leading to success at CMH and beyond.

Members of the Support Community

An openness to receiving support and willingness to work on skill development

Actively engage in the partnership between home and school (i.e. develop a working relationship with teachers and support staff)

Educate student and family of available supports and identify those to best meet each student’s needs

What We Do

  • Create individualized Learning Support Plan (the LSP does not serve as a IEP/504 Plan)
  • Communicate the implementation of Learning Support Plans with students and families
  • Communicate recommended classroom accommodations with teachers
  • Manage testing accommodations
  • Provide students with academic strategies and support in executive functioning
  • Provide students with social-emotional support and strategies
  • Collaborate with teachers, school counselors and outside professionals

*CMH is a participating member of Wisconsin DPI’s Special Needs Scholarship Program (SNSP). Please note this is not a tuition relief program.

Requirements for a Learning Support Plan

  • Neuropsychological Evaluation
  • Individualized Education Plan
  • 504 Plan
  • Psycho-Educational Evaluation

*Must be updated within 3 years of the student enrolling at CMH

  • Classroom Environment
  • Assignments
  • Assessments
  • Executive Functions
  • Modified curriculum
  • Teacher or course assignment preference
  • Individualized pacing or adjustment to course work
  • Modification/Waiving of graduation requirements
  • 1-on-1 aide support
