Greetings from Father Tonny Kizza,
Catholic Memorial High School (CMH) is guided by a set of core values that shape its mission, culture, and student development. Faith and Catholic identity are central to the school’s identity and are reflected in its Catholic faith-based education and community life.
For the time I will be your Chaplain I pray that we continue to grow in our love for Jesus, grow in our faith in Him, then enjoy the fruits that develop from knowing that we are for Christ and for one another. I believe that these will bring us greater joy (My gift to you is Christ, Faith and Joy), remember that Christ calls us to Himself daily: (Let the Children come to me. Matt 19:14). The vehicle to achieve this will be the celebration of Sacraments, prayers and devotion, education, and charitable love.
The belief in God and in the goodness of the human person manifested in the person of Christ encountered in daily prayer, sacraments, and faith formation integrated into the life of the school offers a holistic education and development of our students.
I appreciate the great work parents and families do in teaching the faith to our children. We should always remember that the family is the domestic church where children are first introduced to faith. Great thanks also go to our supportive Parishes who offer spiritual care for our CMH family when our students and staff are not on campus. As a Chaplain at CMH I will strive through pastoral and spiritual care, to ensure that faith and Catholic Identity continue to be part of our life.
Parents and students, please allow me to know you, serve you and support one another on our spiritual journey; let our goal be to move from good to better and to holiness.
CMH is “Where You Rise,” therefore, we need to keep our eyes up and support one another; we are stronger together. The archbishop entrusted to me this flock, I would like to live with the sheep and smell like them. (As Pope Francis once said). While I am here, I will endeavor to help everyone to find the Joy that comes from establishing a good relationship with God and the peace that derives from offering oneself to Him.
